If you like movies most probably you enjoy looking at movie posters also. Some are quite remarkable. Hence everybody is pretty excited about Star Wars: The Force Awakens - I read it's the biggest movie event of the year, maybe the decade - I am posting about three great movie poster artists I admire.
Tsuneo Sanda is a renowned Japanese artist who has illustrated many prints, posters, and other illustrations for Lucasfilm over the last ten years. If you like Star Wars universe you have to know his work!
Tsuneo Sanda created this piece of work for Comic Con 2015 Portugal that took place early this month of December at Porto.
This is one of his latest works. "My latest work is “Dream Maker,” a paean to Mr. George Lucas and the great contributions he has made over the years. It depicts a valiant and supreme Emperor who still wields power over the Star Wars World."
Lucasfilm official artist & Disney official artist
This man was a master of his art. Visit his site and you'll be marvelled. Probably you have seen his “Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back” international poster or Godzilla's. Noriyoshi passed away in October.
And then there's Drew Struzan’s work. Above you can see the poster that's still in my head when I think about the first Star Wars movie. It has been more than 30 years and I still like it. It's simple but striking. The duality between the dark and the light (hope) says it all.
This amazing artist has created so many posters of artists and movies I watched in the ’80s and ’90s! And they are incredible. You may remember his posters from Harrison Ford in Blade Runner and or Indiana Jones as well.
Do you know more renowned Star Wars poster artists? If you do let me know!
Some sites and blogs just don't care about movie or book fans. All they want is to get more and more "Likes", "Followers" or "subscribers". So they are constantly posting what they think has potential to go viral. Right now Star Wars new movie is what everybody is talking about. I know many fans want to get the best experience at the movies. I was a child when I watched Star Wars. It was memorable of course! Many adults that watched the movie like I did and generations after that grew watching Star Wars saga have great expectations about The Force Awakens. So I will not spoil it for them. As an avid moviegoer I totally agree that the best way to watch a movie is without previous knowledge about it. This blog will stay spoiler free. If you want to write about this movie - or any movie - you can post a notice saying 'spoiler free' or not on your post and then the fans know if it's safe or not to read it. No need to annoy anyone, right?
Hello good people! How are you? It's weekend and on weekends I sometimes cook something sweet- this time I decided to make Salami Chocolate! I'm not much into sweets, I just eat dark chocolate all the time. Usually I finish my meals with black coffee without sugar and a piece of chocolate. Lately instead of chocolate I've been eating candied or crystallized ginger. I've become so addicted to it that I almost forgot chocolate!
Anyway, these are the ingredients for Salame de Chocolate or Chocolate Salami. Salame is a very popular treat in Portugal, any youngster knows how to do it.It combines the sweetness of old and traditional Portuguese Maria cookies and cocoa to make an unbelievably tasty treat. Some recipes may include almonds and walnuts, or Porto wine or coffee but this one I am making is the first one I learned, it's very easy and inexpensive.
The ingridients are: 1 egg 1 Maria cookies package (200 gr = 7 ounces) 100 gr of sugar (100 gr=3,5 ounces) 100 gr of butter 100 gr of cocoa powder Aluminium foil Plastic wrap
The first thing to do is to turn the Maria cookies into powder in a mixer. Leave 10 cookies on the side- these you will crush in tiny pieces. Then stir it all together well.
The butter must melt. The heat can't be too high. I don't like it to boil much. The egg is already well mixed on the blue bowl, waiting.
I don't have photos of the next steps because the dog demanded my attention and I don't have four hands!! Luna's always very interested in what I am cooking - maybe she wants to be the cooker assistant! I had to save some leftovers from lunch in a hurry! She's really fast and has a monster appetite!
So, here's what you must do: - when the butter has melted on the pan you put in the sugar and mix well so the sugar can dissolve - when it starts to boile remove it from the fire - outside the fire put the cocoa poweder in the pan and mix well - then put the egg in but be careful - the mix can't be too hot. Let it rest outside the fire for a moment. Then you can put the egg. Move your spoon fast so the egg does not boile!
- Turn this mixture in the bowl where you have the Maria cookies
- Mix it together! You will have to use some strenght!
Now place the chocolate mixture onto the aluminium paper and form it into a cylinder shape or a log the best you can. (I know what you're thinking, that stuff does not look good!)
Now you start to shape the log. Then you close the aluminium foil. You just do the best you can!
Here it is! Twist the ends to seal. Then roll up the log in the table very carefully.
Wrap in plastic. Roll back and forth on the table a few times more to make the log evenly round - it takes the form of salami. Cut the extremities! Place in the freezer for at least 3 hours.
Remove from the freezer and move it to the refrigerator. At this time the salami is too hard to cut. You must wait. You can unwrap the chocolate salami from the plastic and you can leave it in the refrigerator. When you want to serve it you slice it!I cut both extremities to show you how it looks. Perfect!
OPTIONAL! Unwrap from the aluminium foil and spread confectioners' sugar on a dinner plate. Roll in in the sugar until coated.
This year I started selling my illustrations on Society6. I haven't done much promotion about it so maybe this is news for some of you. I love the clean design of the site and the product pages. Product's quality is very good also.
Society6 is running an interesting promo until December 5. It's a great opportunity to get a gift to offer at Christmas! Bellow you'll find my newest creations. They are inspired by animals and collage!
Mostly you'll find products for kids at the store - find a sample of it too! They are inspired by children book characters, world dance and countries around the world. Don't miss it!
This is the site of Kelly Anderson where you can find it - I am not earning anything on this one. It's just that I like pinhole cameras a lot, I've made one myself, it's easy and you really can take pictures with it!
Hi there! Today I bring to this blog something totally different! I am not promoting anything but good health and a fit body! How about that? I know, I know, it's cyber monday, I should be promoting some cool gifts for Christmas! But I have to tell you about my workout experience! It has been ages since my last workout, really. I don't remember the last time I did something like this. All I do to keep my muscles and skeleton entertained is long walks. I walk fast for 6 to 8 km twice a week. Last week I came across this video and I liked it. I don't know if it's a good or bad workout because I don't have the knowledge to judge it, I am not much into fitness. But all people should workout a bit and special people like us who spend a lot of time on the desk sketching, painting and at the computer. I watched it and thought - "I could do that"!! So easy! I could do that in the middle of my sitting room, why not?
As I am doing those long walks for some time now and I feel fine I guessed it would not be a problem to do this set of exercises. I decided to try it and be careful.
Low-impact exercise are movements that involve less direct force on the body potentially reducing the risk of injury. I liked that. But...if it's low impact how many calories will it burn? I would like to loose some weight.I like the toning promise!
It looked so easy! 30 minutes a day! When I read this I thought - I am so totally doing it!In the video there's this girl doing the exercises and you get a voice off explaining everything. Probably there's tons of videos like this one on Youtube but I found it effective. So I dressed for the occasion and pressed PLAY!
Jog in Place Jacks - this initial exercise was a piece of cake. I started well and ended well the three times.
Windmill Steps - OMG, the first time I did this one my coordination was terrible! What was I doing with my arms? Second time was better the third time was OK!
Static Squat Punches - I really liked this one! Had to improvise with two bottles of water! I have two red weights just like the ones girl is using. Have to look for it - for next session, of course! It went well!
Static Lunge Curls - Oh, boy, the first time couldn't get my balance straight! But it was cool, it was cool. The third time my legs were begging for mercy! How can this be difficult?! No way! If you think it's easy...it will be easy, right? WRONG!
Static Lunge Tricep Extensions - I was doing this exercise and thinking that I should get a mirror in the sitting room. Was I doing it right? It looked too easy! The third time I did it I understand that I wasn't doing the right thing with my arms!
Fingertip to Toe Jacks - on the second round I was sweating, breathing hard and started cheating! On the third round I was thinking, OMG, this is NOT a piece of cake! Conclusion: I belong to a category that precedes the beginner category- is there a name for it?!!
Stutter Steps - I am in such bad shape! Why am I walking miles?! This crossed my mind when I was on Round 2 and on Round 3 I gave up the exercise in the middle! My legs were hurting like hell! I then realized that I would bfar in worse shape if I wasn't walking! Ok, THE END! Runned to the shower and made a pact with myself. I am going to do this everyday until Christmas. My objective isn't to look like the girl who's probably half my age and has a nice lean figure. But I have this question pumping: will I be able to do all the routine with a smile on my lips until Christmas? I'll let you know in a couple of weeks!
P.S. I took a look at the site Fitness Blender and it looks very nice! Maybe after Christmas I'll digg more into it! Update!- I have done the workout four times so far! I am doing better everyday and that's helping me to keep going! Update! - Day 9 and I am on it!
Live Heroes is based in southern Poland. The owner brand is Mr Gugu & Miss Go. I joined after reading a positive review of Medusa Dollmaker, a very talent Spanish artist who was kind enough to settle some doubts about it for me. I am fairly new to this "print-all-over" possibility but it's pretty exciting, isn't it?
Live Heroes sells printed all-over apparel at affordable price and by the look of Medusa's t-shirts it's pretty nice quality. As I live in Europe I am sure shipping will not take forever like when I order things from USA. I'm counting on more affordable post delivery also. Above you can see a sample of the products available at Live Heroes and bellow the first designs I uploaded to it - click and have a look at my new store!
The Redbubble pouch comes in two different sizes and a variety of designs. Which makes it infinitely more practical for storing stuff than a kangaroo pouch. It's made from 100% Polyester, has a YKK zip with metal teeth. It's full printed design on both front and back. Simply clean with a damp cloth. Do not machine wash, dry clean, tumble dry or iron.
Above there's a sample of the products available in the store for each design. There are more designs available at the RB store than the ones I picked. These characters represent countries nationals and dancers from around the world.
Visit to check more designs and all matching products - mobile phone cases, pillows, notebooks and sketchbooks, mugs and travel mugs, bags, drawstring backpacks, duvets and more!
