You can laugh if you want, but until Zazzle put pickleball paddles on sale, I had never heard of Pickleball. Now that I've studied the game and watched videos on YouTube, I'd like to try it! Pickleball offers a unique blend of fun, fitness, and social interaction. By the way, I like all games that involve paddles. And these are beautiful and colorful and we can even personalize them. I'll show you some paddles and also matching products, t-shirts, and caps, that you can wear during the games. Furthermore, I'm going to talk a little about the game because I believe there are people who don't know it yet. I´ll talk about the origins and how it's played, and ?ll mention some "slang" also. 1. The Pickleball game: Where it all began and how?
The game was born in the mid-1960s on Bainbridge Island, Washington, as a humble backyard pastime. It was in the backyard of Joel Pritchard, a former congressman, and Bill Bell, a successful businessman, that the first Pickleball game took shape. They intended to create a game that their children could enjoy, using the available equipment – a badminton court, a perforated plastic ball, and some improvised paddles.
The name is often attributed to the Pritchard family's dog, Pickles, who enjoyed chasing after the ball. Whether Pickles was the true inspiration or not, the name stuck, and Pickleball was born.

3. How to Play Pickleball
- Pickleball combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong.
- The game is typically played on a rectangular court that resembles a miniature tennis court, with a 20x44-foot dimension for doubles and a slightly narrower court for singles play. The net is set at 34 inches in the center.
- Players use paddles with solid faces and perforated cores to hit a lightweight plastic ball over the net.
- The objective is to score points by making the ball bounce twice on the opposing side of the court, within the designated boundaries.
- Games are usually played to 11, 15, or 21 points, with players serving diagonally.
- The "non-volley zone" or "kitchen", players cannot volley (hit the ball in the air) while standing in this seven-foot area on both sides of the net. This rule adds a strategic dimension to the game, encouraging players to position themselves well on the court.

4. Some terms used in Pickleball
Kitchen: Non-Volley Zone, these are the front two rectangular boxes that enclose the net; you're not allowed to step into the kitchen unless the ball bounces in it first.
Dink: to softly hit a ball from near the kitchen/kitchen line into your opponent's kitchen, attempting to hit an unattackable, short drop
Body bag: a shot that successfully targets your opponent's body; a body shot.
Stack: refers to a doubles strategy where players line up on one side of the court before the serve in order to move into their preferred spot on the court once the point begins, theoretically lending them an advantage in court position.
Getting pickled: losing with zero points.
Tweener: hitting a ball through your own legs, particularly when you don't have time to step back for a proper shot.
